not much really at all actually, but the list includes drink coffee, visit my dad at home so his only company all day isn’t just his visiting nurses, and go thrift shopping. i’ve started a list of things i know i’m going to need for when i move to boston and my goal is to get as much as i can secondhand. most of the list is super random items, like dish towels. it’s weird that i’ve lived this long without my own set of dish towels, but everywhere that i’ve lived has had them. or silverware. i have baking utensils because i have a slight obsession with those, but not a spoon or fork to speak of! and i can’t really feed myself with offset spatulas and pastry bag tips. well actually, i could. i’ve been known to squirt chocolate mousse into my mouth after i’m finished piping it out. i consider moments like that one of my better job perks.
and feel absolutely no shame about it. okay, maybe i’ll do laundry. all my pants are covered in flour and powdered sugar and butter and chocolate and i probably shouldn’t show up to work tomorrow with dirty pants.
thanksgiving/black friday/this weekend in general kicked my ass. i’m so very glad i won’t ever have to work another thanksgiving at the restaurant and bakery again. but then again, how often do i make an entire month’s worth of rent in just two days? not ever. ever. ever. so that’s nice.
