lookie what i did!

the ice cream cones have two layers of cake inside with more frosting and chocolate ganache at the very bottom. i made all the eyeballs myself with more chocolate and big white and green sprinkles, which is why they’re all looking a little crooked. i think they came out pretty cute.

in other more fun-related news, my friend kim and i had some fun the other day coming up with a storyline for a comic she wants to publish in the local co-op’s newsletter. the comic stars moi and some of my cupcake creations who come to life. it’s titled “the friends you never knew you had” and when she sent me this picture of one of the cells yesterday i was pleasantly surprised to see that it actually kind of looks like me!

i go through stages of “therapy baking.” i’m feeling one coming up soon. my friends and family are going to be the beneficiaries of this crazed state.

our derby team raised over $500 tonight at our cupcake showdown fundraiser. we had about 100 people come out for it. it just goes to show that if good food is involved, people will get off their heinies and do something fun.
